REMINDER -Volunteer Opportunities in June

  

Come join us at the farm and enjoy a day outside while you get your hands dirty. We are preparing the fields, sowing seeds, planting,  transplanting, and harvesting. Join us to help get the fields growing and learn some farming skills while you mingle with the staff and other volunteers. If getting your hands dirty is not your thing, you may also help at our next fundraiser the Food Truck Rodeo on Friday, June 21st.

On Monday, June 17th from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Field preparation and maintenance

On Tuesday, June 18th  from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, field preparation and maintenance

Arrive by 10 AM for a tour of the farm including our crop fields, teaching garden, sensory garden, and farm animals. We’ll then head to the hoop house for a take-home craft…wildflower seed bombs! Each child will also take home a seedling.

Life coach and certified forest therapy guide, Linda Lombardo, leads you on an immersive walk in the organic farm with invitations that open the senses and slow you down, in order to notice, renew and reconnect.

Your guide offers an experience through a series of invitations that open the senses, slow us down and prepare us to reconnect with the earth, ourselves and others. Your experience will always be personal and unique to you. Put your cameras away during the walk; cell phones, too, or set them to ‘silent’.

Summer Sunshine Program

We have 2 spots left in the 2-5 year old session of our Sunshine Summer Program! Enrollment is for the full 6 weeks.

 Each week, children will experience life on the farm! Each session will include tending to our teaching and sensory garden, visiting our farm animals, circle time and singing, reading a book, child-led explorations and art, fresh mint tea and community.

Volunteer Opportunities for  May

Volunteer Dates -- Call for InfoDrop-ins welcome

Join us and get your hands dirty at the farm!

Typical May activities will include greenhouse work (seeding, watering, transplanting) and field preparation.

We offer compost in a variety of ways: 

1 gallon for $2.00

7.5 gallons for $8.00

1 cubic yard for $60.00

5 cubic yards for $250.00

10 cubic yards for  $450.00

For quantities that require tractor use (1 yard plus,) please schedule in advance with our compost manager Joe Castiglia at (347) 925 – 3292.

Opening Day 2019 is Almost Here!

Almost there! Crossroads Farm’s Opening Day is this Saturday!

Come on down to the farm and celebrate Opening Day on April 27th, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Click here to buy tickets.

We’ll have a petting zoo, local food trucks (Empanada Queen, Good Eats Grill, & Teriyaki Plus), and live music! You can also:

Other activities include planting a seed at our planting station with soil, compost, and seeds from Crossroads. Challenge yourself with an obstacle course from Sportset Kids, and learn some kickboxing training with BC Kickbox & Fitness!
