We are very grateful to Nick, Jim, and John for all the hard work that went into upgrading the electric system in the old barn. They worked extremely hard replacing and adding breakers, updating wiring and upgrading and replacing the farm’s circuit box.

Crossroads Farm’s Own Produce Available this Weekend

 

The following from our fields will be available this weekend at Crossroads Farm:

  • Squash – yellow
  • Kale
  • Gourds
  • Garlic
  • Acorn Squash
  • Delicata Squash
  • Bunching onions
  • Dried and Fresh Herbs – thyme, rosemary, oregano, sage
Although the Farmers Market is over for the season we still have live music and festivities. This Saturday enjoy the music of Gene Philcox and paint your own pumpkin with our talented volunteer Martha.  The pumpkin painting table will be set up under the barn’s side awning. Please come and shop and have some fun!

Pumpkins, Holiday Decorations and More Fall Flowers are here!

 

Small and large varieties of pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks, and gourds will be available at the farm this weekend for Fall holiday decorating. Some of your favorite varieties of Fall annuals are available too, including mums, winter hardy pansies, celosia, and ornamental peppers. If you don’t want to do it yourself, purchase a large planter filled with all the flowers of the season.

Monday – CLOSED but ring the bell: if we’re nearby, we’ll open the door and assist you with your purchase!

Oktoberfest Fundraiser at Crossroads Farm Is Today!

Today, Saturday, October 22nd from 1pm to 7pm

Tickets are $25 ($3 for non-drinkers) in advance today until 10:30 AM in the farm store.  $30 thereafter at the farm and at the event.

We are ready for the weather!  We have a huge tent and connected indoor spaces.

Bigger and more sudsy this year with six breweries

Sampling locally brewed, small batch beer while enjoying delicious Oktoberfest offerings from the food truck on hand makes for a perfect autumn afternoon!

Hay rides and animal visits!  Vendors!

Music by The Project and MSRP.

Did You Know…

Oktoberfest actually began as a royal wedding in Munich, Germany on October 12, 1810. In the years that followed, all the appreciative Bavarians in and around Munich held anniversary celebrations until—about ten years later—the celebrations turned into annual Oktoberfests.

We’re sorry for the short notice but our Farmers Market has ended. We appreciated your patronage over the last few months. Please come and visit our farmstand where you can find much of the produce and products that were sold at our Farmers Market. We’ll keep you posted on our plans for the coming year.  The farm store is open every day except Monday.

Fall Festival at Crossroads Farm this Sunday at Noon!

There will be a petting zoo for the children at the Fall Festival in the large animal pen in the back of the farm from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. You’ll get to feed and interact with many animals including goats, chickens, ducks, sheep, rabbits and more!

Snacks and refreshments will be available at the farm including beer from Lithology Brewing Co., wine and soft drinks. 


Congratulations to Our Own Brian Lewis on Receiving the WoodmenLife Community Leader Award

 

Brian is an active member of the Malverne community.  He is the Secretary on the  Nassau land Trust Board of Directors that manages Crossroads Farm. He has been the Deputy Village Inspector of the Malverne Police Reserve for over 20 years.  Brian is an active participant in the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Food Drive and an active member of the Malverne Civic Association and Malverne Merchants and Professional Association.  We wish Brian a hardy congratulations and continued success in his tireless efforts working in the Malverne community!
