Crossroads Farm’s Challenge Grant
 
 
We need your support today to operate Crossroads Farm tomorrow!

Crossroads Farm is very fortunate to have been offered a $35,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor. It must be matched by 12/31/2017.  In other words, every dollar you donate to this effort will be matched dollar for dollar up to $35,000 – whatever you give will be doubled. Anything we raise above our $70,000 goal will be dedicated to our 2018 operating budget.  

We receive no public funding and depend on private contributions to meet the farm’s $300,000 annual operating budget.  Having raised about $230,000 to date, we need your help to raise the $70,000 balance.

  Crossroads Farm’s Own Produce

 We have a great variety of greens including micro-greens, butter lettuce, romaine lettuce, swiss chard, and two varieties of kale. We also have the colorful, nutritious and delicious tri-colored string beans agani this weekend.

From Our Fields:

  • Swiss Chard
  • Kale
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Butter Lettuce
  • Mizuna Loose Leaf Lettuce
  • Trilogy String Beans
  • Microgreens – Mizuna, Basil & Arugula
  • Cut Herbs – Parsley, Rosemary, & Sage

We grow a small quantity of organic ornamental gourds and jack-be-little pumpkins, great for setting an autumnal holiday table.

We have magnificent heirloom variety apples. Use them in baking or eat them fresh.
  • American Mother – Heirloom – Massachusetts Mid 1800’s – Late Season
  • Empire – Mid Season – McIntosh & Red Delicious Parents
  • Hawkeye- Heirloom – Iowa 1870 – Original Red Delicious – Not as pretty but tastes better than newer varieties. Mid season
  • Spartan – McIntosh & Newton Pippin parents – Mid season
Apple Cider, Cider Donuts and Pies for your Halloween  Parties!
 
 
Apple Cider is available in pints, quarts and 1/2 gallons.

Halloween is Upon Us! Get your Sugar Pumpkins Before They’re Gone!

 We still have sugar pumpkins, ornamental gourds and mums for your holiday needs. They’re going fast!

There’s a chill in the air, time to get  firewood for your backyard firepits, fireplaces, and wood burning stoves. You may purchase firewood by the cord, 1/2 cord, 1/4 cord and bundle. Pick-up at the farm.

Help Our Furry Friends in Need at the Courageous Cats Fundraiser this Friday, Oct. 27th!
 
Help further the mission of the Courageous Cats organization.  Let one of their beautiful cats capture your heart or help the organization continue their good work with your donation. Join them Friday, Oct 27th  between 7 and 9 PM at Crossroads Farm.
 
 
 

 

Want to get involved?  Want to make a difference at the farm and in your community?  We have a vibrant and well organized volunteer program.  Maybe this is the year for you to get get your hands in the dirt and to help sustain this unique and exciting project.  Without volunteers, we couldn’t get all the work done.  We are truly a community effort!
