Crossroads Farm seeks an Education Department Coordinator. This person will be active in every aspect of the Crossroads Farm Education Program and reports to the Education Co-directors.<\/p>\n
Job Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Schedule and staff school trips (reviewed by Education Co- directors)
\n\u2022 Use Google calendar for scheduling and transfer to the Softwhite system for data.
\n\u2022 Keep track of all education registrations and contracts
\n\u2022 Arrange meetings for education team
\n\u2022 Learn about the \u201cfield\u201d organic and biodynamic farming and gardening, farm-based education
\n\u2022 Through active outreach, solicit and build relationships with schools, girls scouts, boy scouts, youth groups and other community groups to increase bookings
\n\u2022 Develop adult and family oriented education opportunities
\n\u2022 Coordinate Summer Sunshine Days
\n\u2022 Help care for the Teaching Garden
\n\u2022 Work under and learn from education gardeners and Field Manager
\n\u2022 Work with Adelphi interns
\n\u2022 Help out (seeding, harvesting, etc.) wherever there is an immediate need if education work is completed.<\/p>\n
Skills:
\n\u2022 Effective educator who enthusiastically engages students in experiential learning
\n\u2022 Organizational skills to coordinate and plan educational experiences
\n\u2022 Good communication skills for telephone, email, and office interaction.
\n\u2022 Creative graphic arts skills for making fliers, website entries, invoices.
\n\u2022 Photographic skills to account for education activities both on and off the farm<\/p>\n
Education degree and experience preferred.
\n9 months (March- November), 20 hours a week on site.<\/p>\n
